About Solar Water Heater

1. Can solar water heater be used in winter?

As we know, the sunshine hour is short, and the sun ray is weak in winter, the intraday water temperature is low. But after a continues 1-2days basking, the water temperature will be high enough for bathing (in sunny day).If it is cloudy day, electric heater will be needed to bath. Even though, there will be no problem for daily use such as cooking, washing the vegetables etc.

2. Why some solar water heater produced by some other corporations can not heat the water efficiently after using for a period?
The reasons why the solar water heater cannot heat the water efficiently are as following:

  1. The local air quality is poor that dust covers the tubes, which reduces the absorbing rate of the evacuated tubes.(Our corporation has perfect after service to maintain regularly.)
  2. The local water quality is poor that causes so much furring in the tubes, which reduce the efficiency of heat transferring.( Our corporation promises to clean the tubes once for free during the maintenance period. And we only charge the cost after the maintenance period.)
  3. The whole solar water heater system is not sealed well that cause the foaming material's denaturalization after meeting water(such as rain), which reduces the efficiency of heat transferring.
  4. The pipe fittings quality is poor: the inlet valve cannot sealed well cause cold water enter the storage tank, which reduces the efficiency of heat transferring.( Our corporation utilizes the standard pipe fittings, the quality of our products is much more promised.)
  5. The quality of the evacuated tubes is poor. The performance of tubes is not good on absorbing and maintaining the heat. Or some tubes are broken.( Our corporation has a complete production chain. Our evacuated tubes satisfy the European Standards and are exemption products in Europe and Australia.
3. Why the flux in the outlet is small?

The common solar water heater is non-pressurized that two reasons can cause the small flux.
One is the solar water heater is not assembled at a high position. The vertical gap between the heater and nozzle is not large enough (especial on the top ground).The way to solve this problem is to increase the height of the heater or enlarge the diameter of the pipes.
Another problem is the pipes are bending. The way to solve this problem is to re-settle the pipes.
The third problem is that the something blocks the outlet, inlet or the pipes. The method to solve this problem is to call us to examine it.

4. What is the potential problems of the controller and the sensor?
  1. The main function of the controller is displaying the water temperature and level, auto water filling, and controlling the electric heater.
  2. The usual problems are: no displaying, displaying not completely, displaying not exactly, leakage of electricity, no reaction on pressing, losing the control of electric heater or electromagnetic valve. All these problems are caused by circuit board fault, which needs to be changed or repaired by the qualified person from the producer. The serviceable life of the sensor is not very long since it dips into hot water of the tank and there is water scale on it. If the sensor does not work well, you can clean the water scale first. If the sensor can not recover, it should be changed at once. The controller can not work well without sensor, and it can not display the temperature or water level correctly, or control water filling. The controller do not need to be installed when considering the high failure rate, the return pipe can be installed to check water filling.
Techniques

1. Why tubes have different colors?

Coating is affected by the undulation of voltage and air pressure. The more coating layers the tube has, the greater possibility it is that the color of the coating is difficult to control. Generally, it is natural that the color is a little different while it is abnormal that the color is motley.

2. What is the thickness of the walls of inner and outer tubes?

Diameter 47mm, thickness of inner tube: 1.6mm, thickness of outer tube: 1.7mm Diameter 58mm, thickness of inner tube: 1.7mm, thickness of outer tube: 1.8mm

3. What is the capacity of vacuum tubes?

the capacity is different according to different diameter and length. Diameter 47mm, length of tube: 1500mm, capacity: 1.29L Diameter 47mm, length of tube: 1600mm, capacity: 1.42L Diameter 58mm, length of tube: 1800mm, capacity: 2.63L Diameter 58mm, length of tube: 2000mm, capacity: 2.92L

4. What is the over night temperature difference?

Our company cooperate with Honeywell, the top 500 in the world, which provide us with HFC-245FA blowing agent that is no harmless to the ozonosphere. The advanced production equipment and crafts guarantee that the insulation is 50mm thick. So the over night temperature difference is no more than 5℃ under ordinary circumstance, and no more than 10℃ in winter.

5. How to confirm the capacity of the solar water heater?

The ordinary water consumption of shower (45-50℃) is 30L for a man, and 40L for a woman. If the water consumption includes those in the kitchen, total water demand can be estimated according to 40-50L per person.

Installation

1. How to prevent thunder-strike effectively in installation?

The existing thunder arrester on the roof should be increased at least 50cm higher than the top of solar water heater before installing. Meanwhile the distance between the solar water heater and thunder arrester should be kept as 10cm at least. It is not allowed to connect the solar water heater with thunder arrester directly. The insulation protection should be added around the solar water heater when necessary.

2. What is the appropriate distance when placing the solar water heater in installation?

After the installation, there will be a shadow at the back of the solar water heater, and the furthest distance of the shadow is called covering distance. The distance is usually 1.25 times of the height of solar water heater. The best distance between two solar water heaters in a line is 1.5 times of the solar water heater's height.

3. Items to note for installation
  1. The installation person should try to make sure that the solar water heater face south without covering object in front of it.
  2. Two wrenches should be used when connecting water nozzle with the pipes, one fixing the water nozzle and the other one fastening the connectors
  3. The installation person should check if the silicon O ring are fixed well in the tank before installing the vacuum tubes.
  4. Lubricate the Dust-proof ring and the opening end of tubes with suds, and then put the dust-proof ring on the opening end of vacuum tubes. Insert the tubes into the tank along the direction of holes with slowly circumvolving. Then fix the vacuum tubes into the tail support carefully.
  5. The nuts should not be fixed tightly when installing the tank, and they should be fixed when the vacuum tubes are installed.
  6. The joint of the pipes should not bear pressure since it will cause the joint break easily.
  7. The water nozzle and the air-vent should also have heat preservation, and the air-vent should be expedite, not blocked. The pipes should be covered with insulation, which is fastened by the adhesive tape.
  8. The solar water heater should be fixed well, especially in the heavy wind area concrete and steel wire are suggested for installation.
Maintenance

1. What can we do if water scaling appears?

Normally, water scaling appears when the water temperature goes up to 70℃. Time for removing scale ash is the late autumn or early winter after using for two summers. Also the time depends on the local water quality. The cleaning tool is tailor-made brush, the cleaning agent is diluted hydrochloric acid.

2. What can we do if the water in the tube freezes in winter?

There are two main reasons why the tubes will be frozen. One is because of the tubes. Inferior quality tubes may frozen (our products will not be frozen even at -30 ℃ ) The second reason is quality of the pipes. Bad selection and Insulation processing of the pipes caused them frozen. We utilize quality aluminum-plastic tubes which can withstand high and low temperature. Also can be installed to electric heating belt keep the solar water heater running even at about -10℃.Any way to solve this problem is to keep the water in the pipes running round the clock.

3. What is the best time for solar water heater water filling?

The stagnation temperature of the vacuum tubes can reach 240℃. The vacuum tube will explode if you fill cold water at that time. In order to prolong the serviceable life of vacuum tubes, the best time for water filling is at night or the next morning.

4. What are the ordinary maintenance?
  1. the vacuum tubes should be changed when there is sth wrong with the tubes.
  2. The tank should be changed when it leaks
  3. The tank should be changed when it bursts or stucks.
  4. When the accessories breaks, the faulty accessories should be changed.
